Pat Hiban on Building a Legacy-Worthy Life & Business
Podcast
Interview with Pat Hiban by Kevin Kauffman
Intro
Having success in the long-term and building an abundant life takes hard work, persistence and being surrounded by the right people. Our guest today is a powerful example of these principles, and he has built a legacy that goes beyond real estate as a result. In real estate today, having staying power is about going the extra mile and being diligent with lead follow-up, but so many of us are falling short. Nowadays, the leads we get are further away from buying, but that doesn’t mean they are terrible leads. If we don’t follow up throughout this process, we’re leaving money on the table and we won’t do well.
How can we separate ourselves from the agents who aren’t willing to do the work? Why are masterminds such a critical part of our ability to succeed? How can we make sure we aren’t just succeeding, but really building a legacy? On this episode, I’m joined by successful entrepreneur, founding member of GoBundance, author of 6 Steps to 7 Figures and the new book, Tribe of Millionaires, Pat Hiban. We talk about the incredible life he has built, and what it took to build it.

Leads today require long-term nurture
Back in the day, if you spent money on something, it will bring you back profit. Nowadays, the activities do pay off but it takes longer. The truth about leads today is that we have to nurture them a lot longer, but most agents won’t do it for that long. By not doing the work, agents end up leaving money on the table.
Focus in on your expertise
After losing the majority of his retirement savings in the stock market crash, Pat decided to focus on what he knows well, and that’s real estate.
The power of masterminds
Gobundance is a mastermind of successful men who go on adventures and travel together. When they share in these activities, their guard goes down, and they are able to share their true selves and learn and get ideas and advice from their peers.

Closing Paragraph
Success in real estate doesn’t come easily, and one of the things that makes it difficult is that it takes time and effort. Quality leads don’t just fall into our laps, even if we pay for them. We need to be willing to spend months nurturing them until they are ready to buy. If we don’t do that, we won’t be able to make anything happen. Additionally, we need to be extremely intentional about who we spend our time with. Ultimately, who we are and how we show up is connected to who advises and inspires us.
